Upgrade STARTUP program error

Hello,

 

I am upgrading from SAP ECC 5.0 to SAP ECC 6.0 with EHP5. After preprocessing phase I stopped SAP and upgrade tool for backup. Later when I try to start SAP Upgrade tool I get the following issue:

This is not the case in previous upgrades (i.e.) for sandbox or development system. I tried to start with jce policy file (which is no more supported as mentioned in SAP note 1299009) which did not helped. Please suggest

SCM upgrade deletes modification done by SAP

Hi All,

 

Currently We are in process upgrading SCM 5.1 ( with F&R 5.1  ) to SCM 7 Ehp 1 ( with F&R 5.1). Customer has some development which is directly done by SAP. This development is in SAP namespace even though its customer specific development. Now During upgrade process, these modifications and customizing has removed from upgraded SCM 7.0 systems. This objects have not appeared in SPDD/SPAU.

 

When we have raised this with SAP. SAP responded that since the modification are done with original system as “SAP” , upgrade process by design do not  import them in new release.

 

Can you please  help us find, if any other project have similar issues and got any solution. This is major show stopper for upgrade project.

SUM PREP_INPUT/CONFCHK_IMP DB to low

Hi All,

 

 

I am preparing a Sandbox upgrade of ERP 6.0 EHP6 to EHP 7 SUM SP14

 

I have checked /PAM and the notes from SUM SP 14 upgrade guide and I should be able to upgrade on the current DB, but SUM says

include change request - Is this for source or target release?

Hi gurus, In the enhancement package upgrade from EHP5 to EHP6, it asks to include a change request where we can add  a customer transport that we created in development.  We have a lot of transports that need to go in before the upgrade that were created when DEV was at EHP5 and a lot of  transports that need to go in after the upgrade that were created when DEV was at EHP6.  Which transports do I include here? ... the EHP5 or the EHP6?  both?

Is it possible to upgrade BW with downtime minimized?

Hi gurus,

 

Have you upgraded a BW system using "downtime minimized" (now called standard mode in SUM)? 

 

The reason for the doubt is this note 851449 - "Changeability of BW objects during the upgrade" which makes it sound like data loads could be impacted during the uptime portion of the upgrade.  We are upgrading from 7.31 to NW 7.4 and want to use standard (downtime minimized) if that is possible.

Import duplicated fields removal transport into QAS and PRD systems.

Hello all,

 

i´m doing a an ERP 6.0 EHP6 to ERP 6.0 EHP7 update and in the phase ACT_UPG i got errors regarding duplicated fields. These fields were added in an Append which was attached to the structure (this is the reason why it does appeared for SPDD adjustment).


I´ve removed this Z append from the structure in the shadow instance and create the respective transport.

 

My question is:

When i´ll face this issue in the QAS(and PRD then) system, how can i import this transport into QAS shadow?

Upon Extraction Phase, I am being asked to ENTER DVD MOUNTPOINTS.

 

I already have placed below DVDs, but still asking for it.

Preparing for SAP Netweaver (EHP2 to EHP4) / ECC (EHP5 to EHP7) Upgrade

My client currently runs ECC 6.0 (605) on EHP2 of Netweaver on Windows 2008 R2 (OS) on MSSQL 2012 (DB). ABAP only. VmWare 5.5.

 

We are planning to upgrade to ECC (617) and EHP5 of Netweaver.

 

To test the upgrade, I created a sandbox copy with one dialog server. Because of resource limitations I want to run the Shadow instance on a remote host. So I decided to install a dialog instance first because 1) I wanted to be sure I could run a dialog instance before running SUM; 2) I am not the Windows administrator so I wanted to be sure any gotchas that SUM would encounter would be worked out beforehand; 3) I have to talk my clients administrator through  the upgrade process while he drives because I have no administrative rights on any servers and 4) my clients admin does not have any prior basis experience but does have Windows and VmWare experience and 5) I also wanted to install a license beforehand.

 

 

I am glad I did. We encountered a couple minor issues:

 

1) There was no native client sofware installed on the new VM my clients' admin created.

2) The firewall was ON and prevented me from using the new dialog instance.

 

 

So here's my questions:

 

  1. I have installed the new license in advance but SLICENSE "Note on Validity" reports: Valid (inactive hardware key). Is this OK? Can I procees with SUM and point to the remote server for the shadow and will the shadow inherit this key?
  2. Do I need to shutdown this dialog (D81) instance before running SUM and will SUM re-use it as a shadow for the upgrade? In other words, can I re-use the same port (e.g. 81) for the shadow instance or will SUM want a completely separate port?
  3. Did I waste my time and my clients time installing a dialog server prior to running the upgrade? Considering the problems with the client software and the firewall, I am glad I got those issues worked out in advance.

Enhancement Packages for Upgrade Ecc6.0

Dear All

We are running SAP ECC 6.0 .. was have alot of Z T-code in PS module .. so far we did not upgrade our system with nay enhancement package as we are afraid that the implementation of enhancement package would affect the  Z T-codes created heavily in PS module.

 

How can we know that all SAP standard program are not modified by PS consultant ?

SAP_HR : Missing ACPs for Upgrade of ERP6 EHP6 to EHP7

Hello,

 

I need to perform an upgrade from ECC6 EHP6 to EHP7 with HR_RENEWAL 2.0 add-on in order to upgrade HR to level 608.

Everything is O.K. when I generate the XML file for packages.

I then add these to my download basket.

But when I try to download the ACPs, I get some errors in the download manager :

Trying an HTTP download from support.sap.com throws this error :

all other packages could be downloaded without any problem.

Is there any explanation to this ?

How can I download these ACPs ?

I'm stuck now in this upgrade process.

Need export tool for ECC EHP3

Hello experts ,

 

I urgently need the export tool for SAP ECC EHP3 which is based on NW7.0 and is basically ERP6 SR3

But I could not get any tool for exporting this abap stack.

 

I already tried SWPM but there is no option for business suite 2005.

 

Please assist.

SPAU/SPDD and SUM

We are using SUM to do the upgrade.

In the SUM tool, you have to specify the transports that hold the results after executing SPDD and SPAU.

Then SUM will automatically use this transports during the upgrade of the target system.

 

The original SPDD/SPAU transport is still on the development system, hanging there.

Also it is hard to see if the content of the SPDD/SPAU has been imported.

The SUM logging shows some info, so it is different from the other/normal transports with import logging.

 

What is the procedure for these transports that hold stuff from SPDD/SPAU?

- remove transport?

- just remove transport from import queue and leave it there?

- still move it over across the landscape to production?

- just leave it?

Upgrade 46C system to ERP 6.0 EHP6 (Oracle/Windows) including Unicode conversion

Dear Friends,

 

We are going to upgrade a 46C NUC system to ERP 6.0 EHP6 or EHP8 (running on Oracle 10g & Windows 2003).

 

We will need also to combine the upgrade with an Unicode conversion.

 

Target system will be a SAP ERP 6.0 EHP 6 or 8 Unicode system running on Windows 2008 R2 with Oracle 12C.

 

We are going first to create a sandbox system using a copy of our production system to determine the upgrade/migration path and to estimate workload and complexity.

 

Regarding this test, I have a question:

 

- Because it's a sandbox and developers are busy on other projects, we don't want to adapt ABAP Programs to comply with Unicode restrictions. Do you think that we will be able to continue the migration process and to upgrade system to target release?

BW upgrade error -- How to delete RPload table content from OS level.

Hi Experts,

 

We are currently doing BW upgrade to BW 7.31. Got some error SMSSY2. we raised SAP oss message for that. SAP suggested to delete contents of the table RPLOAD.  how delete it from OS levle.
